Chairman of the Renewable Energy Committee, 2011 and 2012
Representative Holsman served as the Chairman of the Renewable Energy Committee during the 96th General Assembly where 19 separate pieces of legislation were heard.
Chairman of the Joint Committee on Urban Agriculture, 2011 and 2012
Representative Holsman served as the Chairman of the Joint Committee on Urban Agriculture during the 96th General Assembly. The Joint Committee on Urban Agriculture is a first of its kind committee serving state government in our country. The Committee is responsible for assembling the Missouri Urban Agriculture Report, an extensive document examining developments in the industry, and providing recommendations for future legislation.
Member of the Joint Committee on Disaster Recovery, 2011
Representative Holsman was selected to serve on the Interim Committee on Disaster Recovery, following the natural disasters in Missouri in 2011. The Committee met for six public hearings in natural disaster areas around Missouri, and developed legislative recommendations for the Speaker of the House, President Pro Tem of the Senate, and Governor.
Sponsored and passed Property Assessed Clean Energy Legislation, 2010
Property Assessed Clean Energy legislation or PACE allows municipalities to form a clean energy development board to finance energy efficiency or renewable energy improvement projects
Sponsored and passed the Urban Agriculture Act, 2010
This act created the Joint Committee on Urban Agriculture. The Joint Committee has taken testimony from 47 separate organizations in 17 hours’ worth of public hearings across the state of Missouri.
Sponsored the teacher compensation Act, 2008
Representative Holsman sponsored legislation that passed out of the Missouri House in 2008 that would have improved Missouri’s compensation for our teachers which currently ranks 44th lowest in our country.
Successfully added 3.6 million to the Missouri State budget for Sheltered Workshops to employ disabled citizens of Missouri
Sponsored and passed the Easy Connection Act, 2007
The Easy Connection Act allowed for customers who generate their own electricity to be allotted renewable energy credits from their utility for units of power produced.
Procured the donation of 10,000 books from Rosen Publishing, 2012
Representative Holsman made contacts and introductions for the procurement and distribution of 10,000 books from Rosen Publishing to the Kansas City, Grandview, Hickman Mills, and Center school districts.
Selected as an American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) Charter Member, 2011
Representative Holsman was selected as an ACYPL delegate on an international exchange trip to meet with top diplomats in the countries of Romania and Croatia.

Representative Holsman was appointed to serve as the Democratic Deputy Whip by the House Minority Leader for the 95th General Assembly.
Raised funds to purchase 800 backpacks for Kansa City area students, 2008
Funds were raised to purchase backpacks for 800 students in the Center, Hickman Mills, and Grandview school districts. The backpacks were also hand stuffed with school supplies.
